PT. Totalfire Indonesia
Fire Fighting System
Contractor in Indonesia
PT Totalfire Indonesia designs and installs the full range of water-based fire fighting systems for industrial plants, commercial buildings, high-rise developments, power stations, oil & gas facilities, warehouses, and data centers across Indonesia. From fire hydrant infrastructure that lasts 70–100 years to automatic sprinkler systems that control over 99% of fires — we engineer every system to NFPA and SNI standards, backed by our ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications.
All fire fighting systems are delivered on a full Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) basis — from initial hazard assessment and hydraulic design through installation, commissioning, and regulatory documentation.
Our Fire Fighting System Services
Fire Hydrant System
Fixed manual suppression infrastructure providing high-volume pressurized water access throughout a facility for trained fire response personnel and the fire department. Systems include indoor box hydrants, outdoor pillar hydrants, Siamese connections, fire pump sets (electric + diesel + jockey), and water storage tanks. Designed per NFPA 14 and SNI 03-1745-2000. Service life: 70–100 years.
Best for: Industrial plants, commercial buildings, warehouses, high-rise developments, power plants, oil & gas facilities.
Sprinkler System
Overview of our complete automatic sprinkler system capabilities — covering all system types (wet pipe, dry pipe, pre-action, deluge) and all occupancy hazard classifications per NFPA 13. In buildings fully protected by automatic sprinkler systems, over 99% of fires are controlled by the sprinkler system alone. Designed per NFPA 13 and SNI 03-3989-2000.
Best for: All commercial, industrial, and residential building types requiring automatic fire suppression.
Wet Pipe Sprinkler System
The most widely installed automatic sprinkler system worldwide. Piping permanently filled with pressurized water — individual heads discharge immediately on activation with zero delay. Simplest design, lowest installation cost, lowest maintenance requirements. Recommended for any conditioned building environment in Indonesia’s tropical climate.
Best for: Offices, hotels, hospitals, shopping malls, factories, warehouses, residential towers.
Dry Pipe Sprinkler System
Air- or nitrogen-charged piping system where water is held at a dry pipe valve and only enters the system after a sprinkler head activates. Specifically designed for spaces where standing water in the piping would freeze or cause accidental leakage damage. Per NFPA 13, the maximum water delivery time is 60 seconds from head activation.
Best for: Cold storage and freezer warehouses, open parking structures, unheated buildings, outdoor canopies, loading docks.
Water Spray System
Fixed directional water spray system using open nozzles engineered to produce specific spray patterns (oval, fan, full-circle, jet) that envelop three-dimensional equipment from multiple angles simultaneously. Operationally similar to a deluge system but designed to protect specific equipment surfaces rather than floor areas. Designed per NFPA 15.
Best for: Oil-filled transformers, turbine generators, LPG/pressurized gas vessels, storage tank cooling, process equipment, cable trays.
Foam System
Foam-water fire suppression systems that discharge a mixture of water and foam concentrate, creating a persistent foam blanket that smothers the fire, cools the surface, and prevents re-ignition — specifically effective for Class B (flammable liquid) fires where water alone would spread the burning liquid. Available as foam-water sprinkler, foam-water deluge, high-expansion, and AFFF/AR-AFFF systems. Designed per NFPA 11 and NFPA 16.
Best for: Aircraft hangars, flammable liquid storage, oil & gas tank farms, petrochemical plants, fuel loading areas.
Choosing the Right Fire Fighting System
| System | Activation | Primary Use Case | NFPA Standard |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fire Hydrant | Manual | Large-scale suppression; fire department operations | NFPA 14 |
| Wet Pipe Sprinkler | Automatic | Standard occupied buildings, offices, hotels, factories | NFPA 13 |
| Dry Pipe Sprinkler | Automatic | Cold storage, parking structures, outdoor/unheated spaces | NFPA 13 |
| Water Spray | Automatic (deluge) | Transformers, tanks, turbines, process equipment | NFPA 15 |
| Foam System | Automatic / Manual | Flammable liquid fires, hangars, tank farms | NFPA 11/16 |

Frequently Asked Questions
Does every building in Indonesia need a fire fighting system?
Indonesian fire safety regulations mandate fire protection systems for most commercial, industrial, and high-rise buildings under Peraturan Menteri Pekerjaan Umum No. 26/PRT/M/2008 and associated SNI standards. The specific system type and scope required depends on the building’s occupancy classification, height, floor area, and use. PT Totalfire Indonesia’s engineering team can advise on the regulatory requirements applicable to your facility.
Can one building need multiple fire fighting systems?
Yes — and this is standard practice for most industrial and commercial facilities. A typical industrial plant might have: a fire hydrant system for the overall site, wet pipe sprinklers in the offices and control building, a dry pipe system in the cold storage area, a water spray system on the transformers, and a foam system in the flammable liquid storage area. PT Totalfire Indonesia designs and installs integrated multi-system fire protection strategies as part of our EPC scope.
How long does fire fighting system installation take?
Installation timelines depend on system complexity, building size, and site conditions. A single-zone wet pipe sprinkler system for a small commercial space can be completed in two to four weeks. A complete fire fighting infrastructure package for a large industrial facility — including hydrant network, sprinkler systems, and water spray systems — is a multi-month project developed on a detailed project schedule during the engineering phase. Contact our team for a project-specific timeline estimate.
What is the difference between a fire fighting system and a fire suppression system?
“Fire fighting system” typically refers to water-based active systems — sprinklers, hydrants, water spray, and foam systems — that use water or foam-water as the suppression agent. “Fire suppression system” is a broader term that also encompasses gaseous systems (CO2, FM-200, Novec 1230, inert gas) that use gas rather than water. PT Totalfire Indonesia provides both categories of systems. For gaseous suppression solutions, visit our Gaseous Fire Suppression System page.
